Shapes

Music shapes the world around us.

Artists unite us through songs & ideas. CASH Music is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering musicians through free & open tools & knowledge. We help musicians find sustainable careers so their voices will always be here to connect us.

A career as a working musician has never been easy, but it’s harder now than ever. Musicians are forced to navigate a shifting field of streaming, online sales, touring, promotion, & new models. In uncertain times one thing everyone is sure of is that the Internet will continue to play an increasingly vital role for the career artist. CASH Music works to ensure that musicians always have access to free & open tools, built for the open web, so they can control their careers & own what they build online.

We give artists a way to build stores selling both physical & physical goods, all without a monthly fee or a cut taken. Everything we build with musicians works with services they already have access to, like PayPal & Stripe, MailChimp, or Amazon S3. Building in the open means we build with artists collaboratively, & publish every line of code so it can be used, reused, & reworked by anyone. We’re here to help, not to be another middleman.

We’re optimists. We believe musicians make the world a better place & that with tools & knowledge we can make the Internet a better place for musicians. CASH Music was founded as a nonprofit because we believe in the transformative power of music.
